Mogadishu Drainage
Drainage Masterplan which would include the rehabilitation and construction of 6.5km of drainage.
Mogadishu’s drainage infrastructure is critical to mitigating the risks of flooding, particularly during the rainy season. As part of the Somalia Urban Resilience Project II (SURP II), several key drainage systems are being rehabilitated and upgraded to improve water management and reduce the vulnerability of urban communities to floods. These efforts are vital to building a more resilient Mogadishu that can withstand the impacts of climate change and extreme weather, providing safer living conditions for residents and supporting long-term urban development.
